- Attorney access. The National Council on Aging reports attorney access sold as an add-on by some national services: LegalZoom at $20 a month, Trust & Will at $299 a year.
- The other documents. A Will covers what happens at death. A Durable Power of Attorney, a Medical Power of Attorney and a Directive to Physicians cover what happens if you are alive but unable to act. Here they are $20, $20 and free.
- A supervised signing. A Texas Will must be signed before two witnesses. A supervised Will signing in our office, with the witnesses and notary provided, is $400.
- Changes later. Revisions are included for thirty days after preparation. After that, a replacement Will is the same $125 fee.
- Probate. Court filing fees and probate costs come later and are not part of this office's fees.

Questions about cost
Is a low-cost Will valid in Texas?
Yes, if it is signed correctly. A Will is valid in Texas based on how it is signed, not on how it was drafted or what it cost. It must be in writing, signed by you, and attested by two witnesses at least 14 years of age who sign in your presence (Tex. Est. Code § 251.051).
What does the $125 Will include?
A complete simple Will written for Texas law, including protective trust provisions and a self-proving affidavit, in a system designed and created by an attorney who is Board Certified, Estate Planning and Probate Law — Texas Board of Legal Specialization, with thirty days to revise it after preparation. The documents are not individually reviewed by a lawyer before release.
Why is the $125 fee lower than a traditional engagement?
The fee is low because the process creates an individualized document designed to meet the needs of those with fewer assets and common needs. You supply the information through a structured online interview and the system builds the documents from it, rather than using in-office meetings, individual attorney document preparation, and document signings.
Are there other charges at hofheinzlaw.com?
There are no hourly charges and no additional fees for the documents themselves. Optional services are priced separately: a supervised Will signing is $400 and a planning consultation is $400. All fees: Prices.
